There is plenty to do on a visit to Wivenhoe; woodland paths to follow, riverside walks, old streets to wander in the conservation area and a variety of pubs and restaurants to visit. Wivenhoe is also on the Colchester to Harwich section of Sustrans Cycle Route 51.
